Camping!
Camping, who doesn't love a good camping trip!? Good company, memories, sitting around a
camp fire, s’mores and hot coco. Sounds like an amazing time right? Well that
is the theme for this falls Dream Owl Workshop. It’s going to be a camping themed
getaway that is held at an actual campground right outside of Lansing Michigan.
This is
going to be a two day workshop filled with anything and everything
you will want to know about photography and starting a business. I want this to
be a really fun and informative workshop.
November
9th and 10th
Day 1.
We will have
a fully themed family shoot where I will be covering posing with families,
couples, (mom and dad) and children. We will go over camera settings and
lighting. Picking the best location and getting the best out of any location. I
will give away my camera and posing secrets to make every session the best it
can be. Sharing secrets to dealing with
problem children and how to get them to give you great pictures. Once we are done
shooting, we will head back to the campsite to talk about photo shop in front
of a nice toasty fire where goodies will be available. I will ask that everyone
bring their own laptop if they have one, if not I have one that will be
provided for you with CS5 and Photo shop elements 11 on it. You will be given a
CD with all my actions on it including a set that hasn’t even been released yet.
We will go over editing tips and how to customize a workflow to help you edit
quickly without losing quality of your pictures.
Day 2.
We will do a
review of what we learned the day before shooting with a mini photo shoot. Then
we will head back to the campsite to sit around the camp fire again and talk
shop. We will talk about running a successful photography business and balance
your family life, marketing, and any questions anyone has. Be sure to bring
back your laptop just in case there are questions about editing.

This will be
a very much laid back workshop. There will be lots of laughs and learning. I
want this to be an experience that you will take away forever and always look
back on for help.
I will be
staying at the camp site the whole weekend and everyone is more than welcome to
stay too and continue to learn but you will be responsible for your own
campsite and food. I will provide s’mores hot coco and a couple other treats.
